Spending outdoors with your kids is such a great time for bonding. That’s one of the reasons why many people would really try their best to make their backyard friendly and conducive for kids. And making your outdoor space kid-friendly is not about buying $1,000 play set. It’s more on making sure that your little one can play safe and secured.
Let me share with you about how I set up the backyard to make conducive for my little one and that would actually let him to play in.
It started with a good amount of cleaning and clearing out the backyard. I have several design plan that I wanted to implement, but of course that all wouldn’t be possible if you don’t clean the backyard yet. With a little help of Landscape Design Vancouver, I had some good quality grass planted around a certain area. Having those grasses can be very favourable for kids.
I created different theme on each area of the backyard. I’ve set up a sand corner, where I had to order beach sand to give it a go. Kids love beach and most of all, they love the sand. So I just had to bring it at home. Also provided some sand tools and pail the kid can use to play. On the other side, I also have this garden setting, where the kid will be able to appreciate the nature and maybe go with some flower picking sessions. I also added a playground area. I requested someone to install a good swing and slide for more adventure.
What I love most about what I did on the backyard is when I setup an outdoor tent. I know how kids love to camp outside the house. And you don’t have to spend too much for it. You can use a curtain for some DIY tent. For sure, the kids don’t care how it actually looks. As long as they have a tent to get into. Or you can also buy some kids tent if you have some extra cash to spend.
As your kids grow up, obviously, you might need to revamp your backyard since they would be needing an all new space to play some more extreme games. But that’s alright. Anyway, it’s better to get our kids outside and play rather than letting them stay all day in front of the computer. With today’s day and age where gadgets and devices are everywhere, it isn’t healthy for kids to stay idle playing games. But if you try to set up your backyard and make it enticing for them, they’d sure will choose to stay outside.
Remember, it’s always about their health and overall development. And not to forget, you can spend more time with your kids if you let them play outside, or you play together outside. You can play some family games and that will make your entire family closer and build your relationship even more. So start renovating your backyard now, and let the fun begin.
