Now, don’t get me wrong. I loved being a stay-at-home because I absolutely value caring for a family and see them grow up. I also understand that not many mommies have that opportunity due to many reasons. Fortunately for me, I was able to stay at home and raise my two kids.
As my kids grew up, and I know veteran moms know this, I started to feel how they slowly peeled away from me. They became more independent and the job did not feel like it was producing any more “profit”, so I decided it was time to change careers.
The way my parents raised me, I did not think that looking for a position would be what I wanted. Believe it or not, I always had the bug for business since I was very young. As a pre-teen, I remember, I would always look to make some profit out of anything I had in my hands.
Whenever I’d see we got ourselves a new juice extractor, for instance, I was already cooking how to become rich out of selling orange juice. So, I set my mind to start a new business. Luckily, I had some savings that would help me get started.
Now, the next thing to solve was how to get started. I really wanted to start a bit strong, not selling orange juice anymore. I knew I needed the experience of a coach, to begin with. That would be the first investment in my business. So I just googled business coach Vancouver to see what I could find and that is how I met Carol.
The nice thing about Carol Greenway is that she has vast experience with startups. She infused me with vigor and fed me amazing ideas to land on my business idea. She actually mentioned that this was like getting a new baby that you get to raise, and not a teenager that you have to adapt yourself to.
Now, you have to admit that kicking off a business is simpler than trying to repair a broken one. Carol then helped get all things done. From legal paperwork to marketing, we were all set to go.
Another amazing thing about Carol is the number of connections that she has! This made it a lot easier to get the resources for my startup. Whenever we needed some solid advice on a particular market, she would grab on to her own experience but then get in touch with her contacts to confirm a strategy or move.
Information with her connections also helped create a meaningful and pretty targeted marketing campaign prior to the opening. It was amazing the kind of buzz she helped me create!
When I first started my business, I kind of saw the many ways in which it could fail. But I managed to get over those fears, especially after I read about so many entrepreneurs that have had it bad. Thanks to my business coach, I was able to start on the right foot.
Following the advice she gave me on how to keep the line of production generating income, I am on the road to success. There might be some bumps in the road, but I feel that as a career woman now, I am equipped to handle them.
